Jonathan Coombs Obituary
Jonathan Martin Coombs, Jr., 60, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in Katy, Texas. He was born in Frankfort, Indiana, on Saturday, August 19, 1961, to Jonathan and Elfrieda (Boehme) Coombs. He was married to his loving wife, Kathryn (Carl) Coombs.
Jonathan graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1979 and received his B.S. degree from ITT Technical College. He was a Network Engineer for 13 years with Viasat. Jonathan will be remembered as one who was a simple and humble man. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed taking care of them. He also loved his dogs, Dexter and Milo, and Star Wars.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Jennifer (Jose) Aguilera of Sugarland, TX, and April Creech of Katy, TX; brothers, Kerry (Connie) Brooks of Owensboro, KY, and Bruce (Diane) Coombs of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Donna (EJ) Stein of Georgetown, TX, Joyce (Mark) Boling of Coatesville, IN, and Mary (Michael) Cloud of Anderson, IN; grandson, Austin Koontz of Katy, TX; granddaughters, Stephanie Lunsford of Katy, TX, Brooke Creech of Indianapolis, IN, and Kathryn Aguilera of Sugarland, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Brooks.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
A funeral service to celebrate Jonathan's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the funeral home. Mary Cloud will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park. Additional visitation will take place at 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Marion-Grant County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1921, Marion, IN 46952.
