Judy K. Washburn, 86, passed away on November 5, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Judy was born in Marion on September 24, 1939 to Robert Paul Pickens "Bob" and Lucille C. (Hults) Pickens. Her parents preceded her in death.
She graduated from Bennett High School in Marion in 1957, where she was the Salutatorian of her class.
Judy married the love of her life, Errol H. Washburn "Wash" on January 12, 1985 in Hartford City. He passed away on June 5, 2010. She retired from Peterson, Ervin and Barry Law Firm, primarily being the legal secretary of Max Peterson.
Judy cherished her family deeply, with a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, who adored her as the world's best grandma. She had a passion for gardening and working outdoors, taking great pride in her yard. Judy delighted in sweets and was an enthusiastic reader, always with a book nearby. She found joy in keeping her home welcoming and tidy, embracing housework and laundry with a positive spirit. Dancing brought her happiness throughout her life.
She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Hartford City. She loved to play cards and was a member of the "What's Trump" Euchre Club for 58 years.
Judy will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lea A. (husband, Greg) Glancy of Lizton, IN; son, Robert K. (wife, Christine) Armfield of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren, Collin Hayden Alvernaz, Shannon Renea Washburn, Macy Lucille Armfield and Joseph Hayden Armfield; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Washburn, Charlotte Washburn, Quinn Alvernaz and Luke Alvernaz; sisters, Cecilia M. Cutter of Anderson and Mary (husband, Frank) Aguilar of Marion; many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Marshall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City, with Father Kevin Hurley officiating. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery in Albany.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 and from 9 to 9:30 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City.
