Paul "David" Jentes, age 83, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at 4:25 am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Envive Healthcare of Huntington. He was born on August 17, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, to Dr. Paul and Esther (Schmid) Jentes. On November 1, 1963, he married his loving bride, Nancy J. (Chittenden) Jentes, and they celebrated 61 loving years together.
A dedicated educator, David taught at Eastbrook High School for over 16 years. He also worked for more than 19 years at the 3M plant in Hartford City before returning to school to earn his teaching degree. His passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom – he coached numerous sports at Eastbrook and Taylor University and was a proud supporter of his children's and grandchildren's athletic events.
David was a member of both Upland United Methodist Church and Faith Harvest Church. He was the first president of the Upland Jaycees and a devoted Ohio State football fan. Above all, he cherished time with his family and found joy in every moment spent with them.
