Vivian Wilds, age 87, of Jonesboro, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at her cherished home with her family by her side. Born on September 12, 1937, in Greeneville, Tennessee, Vivian was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many during her time on earth. She graduated from St. James High School in 1955 and soon after married her beloved husband, Aubrey Wilds, on June 30, 1956. Their enduring bond remained strong until his passing on June 5, 2022.
A devoted member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church for over 50 years, Vivian embodied the essence of faith and family. She was a true reflection of the Proverbs 31 woman, finding immense joy in caring for her loved ones. Her unwavering commitment to her family was her foremost priority, and her nurturing spirit radiated warmth and love to all who knew her.
Vivian was known for her infectious smile and gentle demeanor, always modeling the virtues of forgiveness and grace. She found pleasure in life's simple joys, whether it was collecting Longaberger baskets, tending to her flower garden, cooking delicious meals, or enjoying serene moments of birdwatching. Her beloved dog, Lucky, was a cherished companion during many of these peaceful pursuits. Additionally, Vivian and Aubrey shared a passion for traveling in their RV mobile home, creating cherished memories together.
She is survived by her children, William (Sabrina) Wilds, Deborah (David) Graves, Peggy (Edward) Dulhanty, and Janice (Rex) Smith; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Allen, Micah Dulhanty, Aaron Dulhanty (who lovingly spent the last few years taking care of her), Andrew (Alex) Wilds, Jennifer O'Banion, and Stacy (Josh) Wright; great-grandchildren, Addison, Molly, Mya, Eli, Samuel, and Aubrey Rose; and several nieces and nephews. Vivian leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Wilds, parents, David and Gladys Cutshaw, and brother, LeRoy (Margo) Cutshaw.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service to celebrate Vivian's life will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Sunnycrest Baptist Church, 2172 West Chapel Pike, Marion, Indiana 46952, at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family may visit prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
