Akram Alex Kader, 74, of Inverness, FL passed away on November 2, 2021 at his home. He was born to Ahmed Kader and Deebeh Yahya in Ajjul, Jordan on June 8, 1947. Akram earned a bachelor's degree in Arabic Literature from Beirut Arab University and taught Arabic in middle schools and high schools in Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Algeria before relocating to Northern California in 1974.
One of Akram's favorite hobbies was capturing family moments in home videos. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching movies, WWE wrestling, 49ers football, and in his retired years, playing cards at home with Yvonne while enjoying an occasional martini. Akram lived for his family, especially later in his life, and was known to say, "Happiness is being a grandfather."
Akram is survived by his loving partner of 15 years Yvonne Evans; his ex-wife Maria and their three children, Sommer (husband Jason), Sami (wife Megan), and Dina (husband Davede); his brothers, Fuad, Oscar, Maurico, and Khalid; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his seven cherished grandchildren, with one on the way.
A funeral mass is scheduled for 11 am on November 17, 2021 at the Calvary Cemetery and Funeral Center in Citrus Heights, CA, with visitation from 9-11. In lieu of flowers, Yvonne and Akram had expressed remembrances in the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on their behalf. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
