I first met Andy in 1995 when he showed me the "Snoopy Tree" at Manatee Springs. Lichens that had grown on the side of a large tree into the perfect silhouette of Snoopy. Andy loved history and dug into the pasts of Manatee and Fanning Springs. He discovered the location of historic boundary markers and the crash site of a WWII era airplane. He rented a pontoon boat and invited me and a few friends to go on a day trip down the Homosassa River. As we stopped to explore little islands Andy explained where the indigenous people would have camped or made settlements and we would walk over and sure enough he could show us signs from their existence of long ago. Most of all Andy had compassion for those who were powerless or were suffering. Andy helped people in need without drawing attention to himself or wanting to receive any credit. If fact he avoided the limelight. Andy had an infectious laugh that he shared quite often while telling humorous stories. He also could go deep and say something profound that revealed his relationship with a loving God. I will cherish the years that Andy and I worked together at the parks and grew together in friendship. I'll see you on the other side, my old friend.

I was so sorry to read of your passing in the newspaper. I wish I could have visited with you and talked over the many things we were involved with together. I will remember the good times we had with your dad and the laughs...remember that peanut butter pie? Andy, please know that I would have been with you if I had known of your illness.

May you rest peacefully and without pain as you are received into heaven by our heavenly Father.

I will miss you.

We are lovingly sending our sincere condolences. We also know that God can comfort you to the point that you will have the strength to comfort others. If you stick together as a family and ask God for strength you will be able to help comfort each other, just as our family has recently had to do. We send our love and our family will keep your family in our prayers.
