Barbara June (Groschen) Peck, 91, with her daughter by her side, passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House, Lakewood Ranch, FL on September 9, 2025. Born July 10, 1934 to Martha E (Connelly) Groschen and George E Groschen in Uniontown, PA.
Barbara was proud that her father George was a Civil Engineer and participated in the building of the Panama Canal and the rebuilding in Germany after World War II. She attended college in Munich Germany at the University of Maryland, Munich. Her family returned to the United States and she graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Barbara married Frank C Peck on July 3, 1957 and they moved every couple of years within the United States for his work. With each move Barbara would find friends easily at the local Garden Club. She is remembered fondly by family and friends, a classy lady with a heart of gold. Her grandchildren remember visits to the pool, flea markets and feeding the local wildlife in the back yard.
Barbara is survived by a son Matthew Peck (Lisa) and a daughter Kristin (Peck) Schwingbeck, 7 grandchildren Neil III, Alyssa (Ron), Kelsey, Michael, Joseph, Jenna (Joseph), Lilly and 2 great-grandsons Ronnie and Frankie. She was preceded in death by her Loving Husband Frank in 2020.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Barbara was laid to rest in a private internment with her husband at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. Arrangements were made by Covell Funeral Home, South Bradenton, FL
