Phillips, Barbara Eileen, AKA Grybek, Barbara age 57, of Lecanto Florida died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband Michael Phillips; children Michael Grybek, Jessica Grybek, and Landon Phillips; Chiwawa's Cody and Libby; brother Tommy Earley; Aunt Nancy Steen; and 7 cousins.
Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA. and grew up in Tampa, Florida graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa class of 1982. She first married in 1985 and moved to Homosassa with her husband Jeffrey Grybek and for 14 years they ran the Homosassa River retreat in Homosassa Florida.
She then moved to Crystal River Florida and met and married her current husband Michael Phillips originally from Norton, Mass. She was a devout Christian and member of the Gulf to Lake Baptist church in Crystal River, Florida. She worked for Southern Glazier Wine and Spirits as a wholesale distribution salesperson and was widely praised for her sales abilities and held the title of sommelier of wines.
She traveled in the wine country of California and was no stranger to Napa Valley. She knew real estate and owned and managed some family rental properties. She loved to travel. When she could get away loved the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina. When she could not get away she liked to float around the pool with her dogs.
Barbara had a great heart for everyone she knew. She loved large, did for others as Jesus would, and was quick to listen, impart wisdom, lend a hand, and pray for others. She was a person with a deep and generosity faith. She lived a life of giving, sharing and loving others. Her energy and spirit will live on in us, and we will forever be grateful for her presence in our lives. Barbara made the world a better place for her having been here.
Although we may no longer physically see Barbara, we believe she has left an indelible mark on all of us lucky enough to have known her. Barb would want all of us to remember her with a smile rather than with tears. She would want us to find comfort in knowing she is free from pain and home with her Heavenly Father, and her family gone before. Barbara will always continue to bring sunshine into our lives. We will miss her sense of humor, her contagious smile, her laughter, and her love of life.
What did Barb teach us? Life is not without tears and is endlessly challenging us. All we can do is forgive quickly and be kind, to others and ourselves; know that we are all doing the best that we can. Cultivate gratitude and love; believe that enough is a feast. Be of service and generous; try to escape the prison of self. The bible verse 2 Timothy 4:7, says it best, "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
She will have visitations at Fero Funerial Home in Beverly Hills, Florida from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday September 2nd and services at Gulf to Lake Baptist church in Crystal River, Florida on Friday September 3rd at 11am and will be interred at Fero Cemetery also of Beverly Hills, Florida.
