David McDonald Obituary

David Frederick McDonald, 79, of Inverness, Florida passed away at Arbor Trail, Saturday, November 23, 2024. He was born in Harpenden, England and came to Citrus County 78 years ago from there.

He served our country from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. He went to work for Florida Telephone as a cable splicer in late 1967, there being many company name changes over the years and several promotions. He retired as an engineer but enjoyed his time as an inspector for Sprint the most, attaining Top Inspector for the Ocala District. He was proud to be a part of Citrus County and Citrus High School, attending most of the reunions. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Inverness.

He is survived by his wife, Pat sons Scott and Daryl; sister, Jeanette and granddaughters Angelia, Macy and Gwenna and many friends. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, in lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 5040 E. Shady Acres Drive, Inverness, Florida 34453.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Monday December 2, 2024 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. The service will be held December 2, 2024 at 2PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
