Dennis Becker Obituary

Dennis A. Becker, a devout Christian and cherished pillar of his community, was called to his eternal home on Nov. 17, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on July 9, 1940, in Jamestown, New York, Dennis's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his faith, his family, and his country.

Dennis's early life in Jamestown laid a strong foundation for the principles he would carry with him throughout his days. Dennis answered the call of duty, serving his nation honorably in the United States Army Active and National Guard, and the Navy Reserve. His time in the military was a testament to his dedication and love for his country, shaping a man who was always willing to give of himself for the greater good.

After his military service, Dennis returned to civilian life, where he continued to embody the values of loyalty and service through his involvement with the American Legion #155. His commitment to his fellow service members and veterans was unworn, and his efforts within the organization were a reflection of his generous spirit.

At the heart of Dennis's life was his steadfast faith in God. As a devout Christian, he lived his life as a reflection of Christ's love, displaying kindness, compassion, and an ever-present readiness to support those in need. His sense of humor and friendly smile were beacons of light in the lives of all who knew him.

Dennis's love story with his beloved wife, Ann E. Becker, was one of mutual devotion and partnership. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges, fortified by their shared faith and love for one another.

He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Little, his father Arnold Becker Sr., and his brother Arnold Becker Jr.

He is survived by his brother Harold Becker, his daughter Deborah Hilton and her husband Wayne, his son Joseph Becker and his wife Karen. His grandchildren include Sarah Carlson, Joe Hinman, Allison Crawford, Jordan Becker, Aiden Becker, and Gabrielle Becker. Dennis had six great-grandchildren: Mason Crawford, Brayden Crawford, Piper Carlson, Hadley Carlson, Carter Hinman, and Noah Hinman.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Dennis will remember him as a man of integrity, warmth, and generosity. He was the embodiment of a life well-lived, touching the hearts of many with his genuine concern and unwavering friendliness. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he has influenced and the love he has spread during his time on earth.

As we bid farewell to Dennis A. Becker, we take solace in the knowledge that he has been welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, where he will surely hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life that exemplified the love of Christ and the strength of the human spirit.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to cross paths with him.

I believe Dennis and I became friends in Army Basic Training, Ft Jackson, SC in January - April 1958. Following graduation I dropped him off nearby on my way to Fort Lauderdale. He was a fine soldier and good friend. RIP and God Bless.
