Diego Torres Obituary

Diego Torres, age 89 of Inverness, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at his residence under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. A celebration of life memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 2:30 P.M. from the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Friends are welcome to gather at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30 to form the procession to the cemetery. There will be no viewing hours.
Mr. Torres was born in Puerto Rico on November 10, 1918, to the late Daniel and Belen Torres and moved to this area in 1985 from Holbrook, New York, after retiring as plant manager from Orowac, and Pilgrim State Hospital, and served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart Medal after being wounded in Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alida Torres; four sons, Daniel Torres, Diego Torres Jr., Miguel A. Salas and Richard A. Torres; four daughters, Rose Amelia Torres Ortiz, Sandra Torres Powell, Rosemarie Cortez Adkins and Magdalia Salas; one sister, Carmen Velia Torres; and grandchildren Alexandria Rose, Erica Rose, Edith, Eddie, Elisabeth, Sondra, Nichole, Daniel Jr. and Gabriel, along with many others and great-grandchildren. An additional memorial service will be held in Bay Shore, NY, at a later date.

Dear Diego i did not know you as well as alex but i still remeber me going to your house and always give me a huge and a kiss and we talked am happy i met you and am happy you live to be 89 years old your Brithday is november i dont know what day it is but i will party evreday with alex!!!!! i will miss you !!!!!
