Donald Everett Lassiter's love of life did not come to an end with his death. Donnie passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on November 22, 2021 of natural causes; surrounded by his loving family and his beautiful friends. He is now dancing on the streets of gold in heaven with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ! Donald was born in St. Louis, MO on March 22, 1955 to Lamar Everett & Beulah Mae Lassiter. He grew up in Cincinnati, OH with his parents, 2 brothers: Bob & Jim, and his Sister Sue. After leaving his childhood home, he thrived at Key Light Homes where he worked and lived for almost 40 years. He loved his life in the Key Light community where friends became family. Donnie was the most loving Uncle to his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. "Uncle Donnie" loved to play and was the biggest kid of them all. He loved Batman, Bowling, Classic Cars, Gospel Country Music and Hee Haw. Donnie's favorite thing was a trip to McDonald's for a cheeseburger, fries and a coke! Donald is survived by many members of his loving family & friends. He is a treasured son, a loving brother, the cherished "Uncle Donnie", and a wonderful friend. Don loved everyone unconditionally and everyone he met was his friend. Donnie is God's angel, and he touched the lives of all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 3rd, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, with Donald's family officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness, beside his parents. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time. Reception and Memorial Tree Planting will be immediately following the burial at Key Light 2 ~ 402 Dampier Street, Inverness, FL 34450. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Key Training Center ~ In Memory of Donald Lassiter, 5399 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy Lecanto, FL 34461.
