Eugene Same

Mr. Eugene Edward Same, age 78, of Crystal River, FL, passed away April 29th at the Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. He was born on July 13, 1930, in Rochester, N.Y., to Mr. Harry and Mrs. Hellen A. (Hanson) Same. Mr. Same was employed by Eastman Kodak for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and upon his return he joined McFarlins Clothing Co. as a Mens Shoe Buyer. He moved to South Woodbury, VT, in 1969 and became a store manager in the Capitol City, then moved to Sarasota, FL, and was employed as Store Manager for the company's stores on St. Armonds Key and at the Bradenton Mall in Bradenton, FL. until the company went out of business. Mr. Same the joined Maas Brothers until his retirement. He then moved to Crystal River where he built his home 21 years ago. Mr. Same was Catholic and a 32 degree Mason. The family is grateful to the staff at Granny's Restaurant in Crystal River as well as Jimmy Sharlow for the friendship they consistently extended to Uncle Gene.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Same was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lauretta A. Same Regan and her husband Mr. Thomas Lester Regan; a brother, Mr. Thomas F. Same; and his companion for 57 years Mr. Victor H. Lilley.
Mr. Same is survived by three Nieces, Ms Barbara Regan of Aliso Viejo, CA, her twin Mrs. Linda Regan Stummer and her husband Mr. David Stummer of Fulton, NY, and Mrs. Joanne Goddard and her husband Mr. Alan Goddard of Clarksburg, NJ; one Nephew, Mr. Patrick T. Regan and his wife Mrs. Denise Regan of Wellsville, NY; three great nieces, Miss Meghan Goddard, Miss Jill Regan and Mrs. Jessica Cotton and her husband Mr. Dan Cotton; two great nephews, Mr. Patrick Stummer and Mr. Christopher Regan and his wife Elsie Regan; two great great nieces, Miss Emily Cotton and Miss Selah Cotton; one great great Nephew Master Micah Cotton.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 4th from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, Florida. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Suszynski officiating. Burial will be at the Magnolia Cemetery in Lecanto, FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Citrus County.
