It is hard to believe that one year has passed. You have been gone 365 days. I am watching the Tampa Bay/Detroit football game & they are showing beautiful pictures of Detroit. I have been thinking about you all day today with much sadness. However, thinking of you & Detroit together reminds me of the trouble you got us into! A group of us decided to drive across the river into Windsor, Ontario for dinner & some shopping. There were 6 of us & the van was packed with packages as we headed back to Detroit. Well, Miss Flo decided to take pictures of the Ambassador Bridge. When we got back to the other side customs agents had Flo on videotape taking pictures & demanded to see her camera! They had us pull over & park to the side & we all had to go inside the custom´s office & stand in a line on a line. Truly...they had a line painted on the floor! We were talking while standing on the line & Flo was trying to make light of our situation. We were very sternly told to be quiet, stay on the line, & stop moving. When we were finally released & allowed to leave every package from the van was open & out on the ground. All of the compartments had been gone through. They tried to keep Flo´s memory card, but she asked if she could just delete the photos of the bridge & they said yes & they watched her do it. We all kept our senses of humor as we reloaded the van & drove back to the hotel. The drinks were on Flo that night...all because she took a picture of a bridge. Which turns out is illegal & a felony! Flo never lived that down & from then on we always asked her if she had taken any good bridge pictures lately. Flo...you are missed more than you know.

Flo has been one of my best friends for over forty years. I am going to miss her more than I can say. We traveled across the country many times and to more major cities (like Houston where she had me laughing so hard I threw up all over my shirt because I couldn´t pull over) and minor cities (like Marfa where we had lights following us & then they just disappeared) than I can count. Flo loved Florida´s State Parks & together we have been to every one of them. She also loved going to the parks in the National Park system. She visited over 200 of them and has the stamps to prove it! Flo never missed a shuttle launch if she could help it. She went to great lengths to make sure she could attend most of them. Flo was very active in her community & she loved living in Floral City. She was a bleeding heart who always championed the underdog. When she made friends, she kept them for life. Flo was an amazing woman who could do anything. The world is a little less bright today. Her legacy will be that everyone remembers her kindness & how she treated them.
