George T. Watts, age 14, of Inverness, Florida, gained his wings on January 11, 2026, and was officially pronounced on January 13, 2026, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, following a tragic accident. He was born in Inverness on July 27, 2011, and was a proud 8th grade student at Inverness Middle School. He was an honors student and very athletic.
George was more than a name and a date – he was a son who was deeply loved, a brother who meant everything to his siblings, and a child who filled every space he entered with life. He had a heart bigger than his years and a spirit that could not be ignored. George brought laughter, energy, and love into the lives of those around him, and his memory will live on in every story told, every tear shed, and every moment his family holds close.
George passed away a hero alongside his best friend, Derrick Hubbard, someone he was always with. Their bond was real, their friendship was unbreakable, and they will forever be remembered together. George's love, loyalty, and courage will never be forgotten.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, George C. Watts and stepmother Jasmine Watts; his mother, Dovina Counsil; his two brothers, Xzavyer Watts and Patrick Zook; his three sisters, Ezmaralda Watts, Amiyah Watts, and Ember Hardy; his nephew Kyrk Counsil; his grandparents Michael and Annie Counsil, Nancy Watts, and Lisa Alvenus; great-grandparents, Gloria Reyes, Carole Counsil and Hal Steiner; several aunts and uncles; and a bunch of other family members who loved him dearly.
Though his time here was far too short, George made an impact that will never fade. His family will never stop loving him, never stop missing him, and never stop speaking his name. He will always be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Pastor Darrell Reneau officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory, Inverness, FL.
