It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Irma Alene Stokes, who peacefully departed this life on November 14, 2024, in Crestview, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on August 7, 1943, in Crystal River, Florida. Irma lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.
Irma devoted 37 years of her career to the Citrus County School Board, serving at the Marine Science Station, where she managed the office and cafeteria. She was an integral part of the community through her dedication to the Citrus County Fair Board and 4H Her passion for helping children made a lasting impact on those around her.
She is lovingly survived by her brothers Lee Earl Stokes (Mary Nell) and Dubbie Stokes (Barbara); Sisters in law Mary Stokes and Gail Stokes, her children Teresa O'Bry, Jennifer Wyant (Alan), Sherri Sanders (Brian), and Mike Stokes (Erin); her cherished grandchildren Joshua Blue O'Bry, River O'Bry, Christopher O'Bry, Crystal O'Bry, Tyler Thorsen, Quintin Thorsen, Shellby Gilson, Heather Gilson, Christian Sanders, Jennifer Stokes, Amy Stokes, and Jeremy Stokes; and her many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews all of whom brought her immense joy.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Earl Stokes and Annie Alene (Priest) Stokes, her brothers George Stokes and Danny Stokes, and her grandson Ricky Anderson III.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Red Level Baptist Church, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at Red Level Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring Irma's memory.
Irma Alene Stokes will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering love for her family, and her commitment to her community. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Irma was one of the most loving and caring person that I know. I will cherish every memory of her. She will always be missed and loved. Rest easy miss Irma. I don't go by the Marine Science Station without giving a hello to you Irma. They should name it after you. You made every child's visit there a memorial one. And every time I pass your house working on the school bus I always mention that's where Irma lives and those are her cows. You will be missed

I am honored to be the parent of several of her 4h kids and the friend of her daughter. She brought so much light into this world and she is missed terribly already. I´ll see you on that heavenly shore Ms Irma. All my love and condolences to her family.
