James Arthur "Jimbo" Strickland

James Arthur "Jimbo" Strickland, age 60, of Inverness, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jimbo was born in Tampa, Florida, on August 22, 1965, to James Lee Strickland and Myra Johnson Strickland. He moved to Inverness at an early age, where he attended local schools and made many lifelong friends.

From a young age, Jimbo had a natural gift for cooking. He worked as a chef at his family's restaurant, where his love for food and bringing people together always shined through. Later in life, he took pride in his work as a commercial truck driver, exploring new places across the country and finding peace on the open road.

Jimbo truly lived life to the fullest. He loved to go fishing, spending countless hours near the water, and he enjoyed riding his four-wheelers all over the state of Florida – always chasing adventure and making memories wherever he went. Those who knew Jimbo will remember his big heart, his laughter, and the way he could brighten any room just by being in it.

He will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Myra Huber; his brothers, Thomas Huber, Jr., and Mark R. March; his sister, Leslie Clark; his nephew, Joshua; great-nephew, Little Josh; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored him.

Jimbo was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Strickland, and his sister, Belinda Tomlinson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with time and place to be announced. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.

Jimbo's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him – his laughter, his kindness, and his adventurous spirit will never be forgotten.
