Jerry Norman Mannis was born October 20th, 1939, in Chattanooga, TN to Hubert Mannis and Sarah Lucille Chambers. He married his wife, LaLoni Barron in 1963 in Miami, FL after returning from his service in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by LaLoni, and his two sons, Daniel (Delynn) and Michael (Karen), bothof Lecanto, FL and five grandchildren, Adam, Javon (Mike) Kohl, Kaitlyn, Nathan(Macey) and Rachel Mannis.
Jerry loved music, he loved to sing and dance, and he taught himself to play the piano and guitar. He loved people, all people. He gave of himself and his time, and loved doing for others. Jerry loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. But most of all he loved his family. He was a faithful member of his church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) he loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life and funeral service will be held for Jerry at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3474 W Southern St, Lecanto, FL 34461, on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:00am, with the family receiving friends in visitation one hour prior to service time. A funeral procession to Florida National Cemetery will immediately follow for a committal service at 1:30pm, at which time full military honors will be rendered.
Those who wish to make memorial contributions in Jerry's memory, please make them to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org. Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
