John Basore Obituary

The Service of Remembrance for Mr. John Allen Basore, age 52, of Crystal River, Florida, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Robert Hoki officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Lecanto, Florida. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Mr. Basore was born March 7, 1958, in Warwick, RI. He died February 10, 2011, in Inverness, FL. He worked as a Mechanic and Service Writer for Crystal Motors. He loved horses, boating, camping and fishing. He enjoyed car modeling and small engine and lawnmower repair. He was a collector of clocks and enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Basore was a Member and Elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Crystal River High School Band Boosters.
Survivors include his wife, Lorilei (Maas) Basore of Crystal River, FL; son, Jason Alexander Basore of Crystal River, FL; stepson, Richard Allen McFarlane Jr. of Midland, TX; daughter, Melissa Marie Basore of Crystal River, FL; 2 stepdaughters, Whitney AnnMarie McFarlane of Corpus Christi, TX, Kristin Amanda McFarlane of Crystal River, FL; mother, Marie (William) Vedder of Melbourne, FL.
In addition, he is survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 3 special friends that he came to think of as his brother and sisters: David Michael Crandall Jr., Anne Elizabeth Simpson and Jane Marie Altieri.

Lori & Family. John as you already know was a great man. He had a loving heart and a love for life. He will be so dearly missed by so many. So many memories from my childhood growing up. Days out on the boat to camp fires and camping. He was special to many.
