Judith Thomason Kasco, 77 of Inverness, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 31, 2021. She died of complications related to Lung Cancer.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 7, 1944 to Irene and Robert Stewart, now deceased. She was the eldest of four children.
Judith reunited with and married her high school sweetheart, Steve Kasco, on September 11, 1993. The couple were married for 28 years and resided in Inverness, Florida.
She is survived by her husband Steve Kasco, her two sons, Justin Hannah and his wife Rachelle, Joshua Thomason and his wife Erin, her step-children Sam Thomason and Lori Ruby, her step-children Windy and Sean Kasco and his wife, Laurel.
Judith was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Hannah and her step-daughter Kim Kasco.
She leaves behind her brother Ronald Stewart and wife Elba, her sisters Janine and Christine Stewart, her former daughter-in-law Jennifer Downing, 8 grandchildren – Scott, Nolan, Natalie, Taylor, Emma, Laura May, Lily and Elizabeth. She had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, intelligence, love for life and her generous and giving spirit.
Among her many gifts, Judith will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, godmother, "Auntie" and friend. She had a "gift" for entertaining and was a masterful cook. She tended a large garden, landscaped her property, liked to knit and crochet plus created beautiful quilts. She was a unique and talented artist with acrylics and watercolor.
Judith was active in the Citrus Garden Club and loved playing Mahjong with her group of friends. Judith was a BSN graduate of Concordia University in River Forrest, Illinois. She had a rewarding 22-year career as an RN, working in Illinois, Hawaii and Florida.
She was an involved member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church and worked on many ministry efforts.
A private memorial will be held for family on Saturday, November 13th at Judith's home. A memorial gathering will be held for friends and family on Sunday November 14th, following the weekly 10 a.m. Sunday service, at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church. The start time will be approximately 11:15 a.m. in Luther Hall. The church is located at 9425 N Citrus Springs Blvd, Citrus Springs, FL, 34434.
