Julius C. "Jay" Feener, age 81, died at HCA Citrus Hospital in Inverness on February 8, 2025. Born in Portsmouth, NH, he was the son of the late Harold and Juliana M. (Tyma) Feener. Jay spent most of his life in S. Florida, relocating to Inverness from Deerfield Beach, FL 15 years ago.
Jay (or J.C. to friends and family) was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After retirement from the cabinet installation business Jay was able to focus on his lifelong hobby of collecting and selling classic car parts. Jay was well known in the Mopar community for his extensive knowledge on all things classic cars. Drag racing, car shows and spending time with friends were some of his favorite past times. Jay was also a cat lover and very much enjoyed The Far Side.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lesley Howard of Hollywood, FL and Janet Feener of Mooresville, N.C.; brother, Stanley Feener; sister, Jane Johnson; and two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Feener.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday, March 31st, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Chas. E Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.

It seems like I've known J.C. for most of my adult life and he fit into a niche of intellectually, amazing men. For years, we talked on the phone about once a month catching up on politics, my grandchildren, past mistakes including surviving those mishaps and what was keeping us busy. My dearest friend, I will most certainly miss you!
