Laura Mae McCorkle "Corky" Duink

1923 - 2017

Laura Mae McCorkle (Corky) Duink, 94, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2017. A resident of Dunnellon, FL she was an active member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church. As a talented artist, she painted with the Nature Coast Painters, the Citrus Watercolor Society, and the Florida Watercolor Society. She was also a member of Gallery East in Ocala. Born in Jamestown, NY in 1923, Corky studied at Otterbein and Buffalo State Teachers College. She moved with her husband, Russell Duink and their 5 children to Tampa in 1958 where they owned and operated a mobile home park until their move to their retirement home in Dunnellon in 1990. Russ, her husband of 55 years died in 2001. She is survived by her sister Miriam Hosack (Bradenton), her children Scott (Sarasota), Roxanne (Dunnellon), Douglas (Tampa), Charlene Simms (Columbia, SC) and Torrey (New Port Richey). She will also be missed by her 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church or Christian School (4221 W. Gulf to Lakes Hwy. Lecanto, FL 34461).
