Inverness
Marjorie Louise Day, age 97 of Inverness, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the Hospice House in Lecanto. Mrs. Day was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 16, 1912, to the late Gustave & Edith (Holsing) Herr and moved here in 1981 from the Eastlake Woodlands. She was a homemaker and member of the First Lutheran Church of Inverness. Her enjoyments in life were playing golf, bridge and watercolor painting. As a young woman, Mrs. Day taught in the Lutheran school. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Howard Day, her son; John (Mary) Kapp of Seattle, Washington, her daughter; Nancy (William) Bergin of Michagamme, Michigan, her stepson; Douglas C. (Susan) Day of Milwaukee, WI, her stepdaughter; Diane (George) Day Paleski of New York City, NY, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 1 great step-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Kapp. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 at 5:30 PM from the First Lutheran Church of Inverness with the Rev. Tom Beaverson officiating. Interment of the urn will follow at a later date in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in S. Euclid, Ohio. There will be no viewing hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church of Inverness. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
