Mrs. Martha Blanche McCorkle Yandle, known as Blanche, of Chassahowitzka passed peacefully on Friday 5, 2021 at the age of 94. Prior to her passing she was a resident of Grand Living at Citrus Hills in Hernando, Florida.
Blanche was born on June 5, 1926 in Jacksonville, Florida and was the daughter of Bertie Mae Hutson Algar. Blanche moved from Cedar Key to Inverness when she was six years old and graduated from Citrus High School in 1944. She began her professional career in the Clerk's office and with the Ration Board before her appointment as Secretary and Deputy for the former Sheriff of Citrus County, Frank Morris. Later in life she was the Bookkeeper for KEY Tire Company. Mrs. Yandle's hobbies and enjoyments included fishing, gardening, cooking and especially spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth E. Yandle, mother, Bertie Mae Hutson Algar, and stepfather, Muriel "Mose" Algar. Survivors include two daughters: Martha E. Yandle of Rockland, Maine, and B. Suzanne Hancock (Skip, deceased) of Inverness, Florida. Three grandchildren: Martianne (Josh) Renninger of Woodstock, Georgia, Robert Hancock (Keri) or Port Charlotte, Florida, and Livka Farrell of Rockland, Maine. Great-grandchildren: Luke Renninger, Lilah Renninger, Cole Hancock, and Logan Hancock.
A private family service will be held at Hooper Funeral Home in Inverness on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. In lieu of condolences, the family requests donations be made to Citrus County Blessings in Mrs. Yandle's name (www.citruscountyblessings.org
