Patricia Jean Groves Maddox Daniels of Crystal River, FL, a Lady who had a love affair with life, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2021 in the company of her loving family. She was 90 years young.
Pat was the daughter of John and Amanda Groves and was born March 24, 1931, in Goshen, OH. She married Robert Lloyd Maddox, the love of her life, had 5 sons, and moved to Utah. After his passing she moved with her 5 sons from Utah back to Ohio, where she was blessed to eventually meet and marry Carl Daniels, the second love of her life. Along the way Pat pursued her love of learning, earning a degree from Bowling Green State University, while continuing to raise a family.
Pat and Carl later moved to Crystal River in 1986. and quickly became engaged in the community. Pat loved playing golf and cards, reading, writing and enjoyed meeting and entertaining friends, both old and new
She was a member of Seven Rivers Golf & Country Club, served as President of the Crystal River Woman's Club and President of Daniels Wholesale Company, wrote for the Citrus County Chronicle and was a Lay Reader and active member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her sons, David Maddox (Mindy) and John Maddox of Salt Lake City, UT, and Matthew Maddox (Lisa) of Federal Way, WA; stepsons, Larry Daniels (Lee) and Doug Daniels, Sandy Meyer Ray and 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons Mark Maddox, Mike Maddox and his wife Cynthia, Robert Maddox, Carl Daniels, stepsons Paul Daniels, David Daniels, and sisters Mary Katherine Groves McHenry and Louetta May Groves Whitacre.
Family and friends will gather in a memorial service to celebrate her remarkable life at 9:00am on Saturday November 20 at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 9870 W. Ft. Island Trail, Crystal River, FL. Father Richard Chandler will be presiding.
