Raymond Dyer of Chassahowitzka, FL passed away on Saturday, September 13th at the age of 75. He was born October 15, 1949 in Miami, FL, where he grew up with his parents and sister.
He was a Merchant Marine Captain, traveling the seas for 40 years. He is greatly admired by many in the tugboat industry for his skills, professionalism, and dedication to the safety and welfare of his crew.
During his retirement years, he volunteered at the local Elementary school as a Reading Pal to preschool children. He was appreciated by the staff and loved by the students.
He is preceded in death by his mother Laura Sowers, his father Hugh Dyer, and sister Barbara Bauldree. He is survived by his wife Lori, children Lisa (Danny), Raymond (Julie), Clifford, Laura (Marc), Norman (Randi), James (Samantha), and Caroline, his grandchildren Barbara, Jaden (Guy), Cara, Lucas, Ellie, Jaxson, and Corbin. Ray was intentional with his fierce love of family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Nature Coast Church 5113 S Suncoast Blvd, Homosassa, on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00AM, followed by a gathering at our residence.
