Sherrill Jane Arledge (née Maple), aged 86, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Lecanto, Florida. Born on April 9, 1938, in Steubenville, Ohio, she was a vibrant soul cherished by all who knew her.
Sherrill's life was marked by her deep love for her husband, Lawrence Raymond Arledge, with whom she shared 53 blissful years. Their life together was filled with joyful days spent fishing and boating, embracing the beauty of the outdoors. In her younger years, Sherrill was an avid bowler and a dedicated bartender at the Eagles club, a place she held dear to her heart. Known for her prowess in playing pool, she affectionately referred to her local pub, Coaches, as her club.
Her kindness and generous spirit made her a friend to many. Sherrill never met a stranger and her presence enriched the lives of those around her. She is remembered as a loving and caring soul, whose absence will be deeply felt.
Sherrill was a devoted mother to six children: Marcia Jenkins (Mike), Sherry Baker, Michael G. Huff (Barbara), the late Jeffrey S. Huff, James L. Huff (Mary), and Julie Brown (Peter). She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to a loving brood of 48.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil R. Maple Sr. and Julia Maple; her siblings, Judith Wotring and Verne Maple; and her grandchildren, Mindy Huff, Kiel Huff, and her son-in-law Peter S. Brown.
A celebration of life is planned for October 19, 2024, where friends and family will gather to honor Sherrill's memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vitas Healthcare Hospice House, an organization close to Sherrill's heart.
Sherrill's legacy of love and generosity will forever be cherished and her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.

Sherrill, you have no idea what an impact you made in my life. You loved unconditionally, always had an open heart and loved your family fiercely. There are so many fond memories of you being there for me, you´ll always have a special place in my heart. I hope you´re rejoicing and dancing with your loved ones who broke your heart with their passing. Until we meet again, I love you.

One of my fondest memories. When I was 5 she would chase me around the kitchen table at grandma's house. It was a fun game, when she would catch me I would get a big hug. She really loved the children.
