Solon Brown Obituary

Solon Lycurgus Brown, 87, of Inverness, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. Born on November 13, 1937, to Claude and Gladys Brown, Solon lived a life of service, dedication, and love.

A proud veteran, Solon served his country in the United States Navy before continuing his lifelong commitment to public service as a member of the Florida Highway Patrol, from which he later retired. His integrity, strength, and sense of duty were evident in every chapter of his life.

Solon is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis, and their beloved daughters, Janet Reed (Michael) and Jennifer Homan (Roger). He was a cherished grandfather to Dalton Homan (Madison), Riley Reed, and Dakota Homan (Brooke Perry), and a proud great-grandfather to Holden Homan.

Solon had a passion for travel and was an enthusiastic supporter of University of Florida football. His love of family and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

I´m so sorry to hear this! My Dad, Murray, was a first cousin of Solans. I know Dad considered Solan more like a brother. My best to Phylis and his daughters.
