Stephen W. Thein "Steve," age 65 of Beverly Hills, FL has been called to the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at home. Born in 1960 in West Islip, New York and had lived in Bay Shore, New York before moving to Florida.
Steve was born to the late Harold Thein and the late Martha Brunn Greico. As a child, he always had a passion of flying. In his teens, he joined the Civil Air Patrol and into his 20's had taken flying lessons which he had earned his student pilot license. Steve was a model enthusiast for over 50 years. He learned about the history and design work through his father, books, magazines, veterans, and all resources. He had built model airplanes, ships, boats, trains, and cars of all sorts. He had displayed and shared his talents in libraries, malls, and organizations throughout New York and Citrus County.
He also volunteered in local events – Manatee, Strawberry, and Scarecrow Festivals; and the local Christmas Parades. Steve was employed in retail, restaurants, schools, the Citrus County Chronicle, and the Hampton Inn in Crystal River. He was an avid fan of the Buccaneers and of Elvis Presley.
Steve is survived by his close companion/friend, Carol Ann for 21 years; his daughter Catherine Thein of Beverly Hills, FL; his sisters Deborah Thomas of Otter Creek, FL and Melissa Roberts of Florida; his brother, William Cihlar of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He also loved his dog Harley "Chunk or Chunkskin".
The funeral will be held in the chapel at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Crystal River, FL on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10:00 am

The family is being assisted by the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.
