Andrew HART Obituary
HART
Andrew Philip Hart passed away April 25, 2013 at his home. Andy is survived by his parents Philip and Donna Hart; daughter, Abigail and her mother, Christine Jilek Hart; brother, David Hart; and niece, Ella Hart. Andy loved his daughter above anything else; she brought sunshine and smiles to him. Andy loved challenges, to learn new things, and to find out how things worked, often by taking them apart. He was an artisan and scholar. For the past 10 years, Andy worked as a Public Defender in Wood County and as a Federal Public Defender in the Northern Ohio Federal Courts. Andy believed in the legal system and worked tirelessly to assure people received due process. Friends and family are cordially invited to a memorial service celebrating Andy's life Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232. (Attendees are asked to arrive inside the main gate between 11:30 AM -11:40 AM to form a procession to the grave site.) Dress is casual. Celebration of Andy's life will continue from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM @ The Dive Bar, 2608 (Short)Vine St., Clifton. Andy's family would appreciate friends stopping by. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed to a memorial fund established for Andy's daughter, Abigail. Contributions can be made to the "Andrew P. Hart Memorial Fund for Abigail Hart" at any Fifth-Third Bank branch. They can also be mailed to the Andrew P. Hart Memorial Fund, Fifth-Third Bank, 420 Madison Ave., Ste. 101, Toledo, OH 43604

Andy was a great guy and a great lawyer. He impacted many lives in a positive way. We will all miss his sense of humor and his courtroom skills. May his family find solace in knowing that he was a force for good in the world. Rest in peace Andy.

Andy was a great guy and a great lawyer. I worked close with Andy on many cases while he was in Toledo. I enjoyed his sense of humor and admired his courtroom skills. I will include Andy and his family in my prayers. Regretfully, I missed the memorial, but I hope his family will find peace in knowing that Andy impacted many lives in a positive way.

Dear Family of the late Mr. Andrew Hart,
I was made aware today of Mr. Hart's passing by a student here at the University of Toledo. Please accept my sincerest condolences particularly to his daughter and parents.
I have missed the memorial service yesterday and regret it. Having been an observer this year of hearings in the military commissions at Guantanamo I have seen the remarkable work for the rule of law that lawyers like Mr. Hart have done. I salute him and may he rest in peace.

I knew Andy years ago - he was a student of mine in Chemistry, and then a colleague at law school. He was witty, warm, incrdibly intelligent, thoughtful and caring. I am so saddened to hear the news of his death. I send my deepest sympathies to his family, who I never had the pleasure to meet, but of whom he spoke fondly. sincerely

Hello to Andy's family,
I had the pleasure of becoming friends with Andy at Sunshine where Abby came to ride horses. Initially he watched from a distance, but before we knew it he was volunteering. We had a great group that would work with the adults and kids who came to ride and often stay of Saturdays for lunch.
We also took a group of riders to the Special Olymics in Cinncinati. Andy was wonderful with the riders and horses. He also learned to ride.
I will always remember that big smile under the helmet.
He will be dearly missed by all the people he touched.

Dear Hart Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Andy was a brilliant person and talented attorney. He also was so kind, funny and such a gentleman. He recently assisted me on a case at Federal Court. I don't practice there often and Andy took the time to help me and my client navigate the waters. He also showed me lots of pictures of Abigail. He was so proud of you! The world lost a great man! I will keep your family in my prayers. So sorry!

Words can not describe how blessed I am to be your friend. I will miss our lunches, our laughs and all our talks. Your humor was always a highlight of my day. We shared many good moments and for that, Andy, I am deeply touched and blessed. An amazing attorney, friend and father. You taught me much. I will forever hold this closely to my heart.
