Barbara Kock Obituary
Cincinnati - beloved daughter of the late Bernard and Loretta (nee Pearce) Kock. Sister of the late Jack Kock. Barbara graduated from Our Lady of Angels and the University of Cincinnati in accounting. She was an avid artist, gardener and community volunteer. Owner of Barbara Kock Accounting, CPA. Barb passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the age of 80. Service Private. Condolences at hodappfuneralhome.com

When I paint en plein air, I continue to remember painting with Barb in the Hamilton County Parks and around the Cincinnati area. She was such a lovely person and talented artist.

I knew Barb in the 80s when we were in the accounting field. We were on a board together. I reconnected with her in the last few years at The Cincinnati Womans Art Club. We painted together nearly every Thursday between April and October with The Southwest Ohio Plein Air Painters. Recently, she treated me to a night at the Cincinnati Music Hall and dinner at the Incline in Price Hill. We shared our love of painting, music and gardening. She was always positive, encouraging and joyful. I will miss her dearly, and I will smile when I think of her.
Tomorrow, the SWOPA group will hold a short memorial for her as we are painting at Mt. Echo Park in Price Hill. Please let me know if there is a memorial service for her that we might attend.

Barbara and her brother Jack were the only two cousins my brother Tom and I grew up knowing. I have special memories of visiting them in Cincinnati when we were young, and their visit to our home in Texas. These were special visits for me as I got to know my Mom's family. In the last few years, Barbara and I shared frequent emails and phone conversations. My brother and I visited Barbara in Cincinnati and she came to Austin, Texas for my daughter's wedding. She was a thoughtful and fun cousin to have and I will hold her in my heart forever.
