Barbara NIGHTINGALE Obituary



NIGHTINGALE

Barbara (nee Moody), devoted wife of the late Philip L. Nightingale, beloved mother of Jeanne A. Nightingale and Nancy E. Schwab, loving sister to Van Buren, Malcolm, Ralph, and the late Richard Moody, proud grandmother of seven and great grandmother of twelve, died on September 17, 2015, at the age of 98. Graced by a gift of music, a lively humor and loving generosity, she will be greatly missed by her two daughters Jeanne and Nancy; by her seven grandchildren, Carl Nightingale, Anna Jeretic, Eric Husemoller, E. Philip Potamitis, Kurt Husemoller, Greta Lichtenbaum and Martin Schwab; by her twelve great-grandchildren, Colette, Paloma, Adrian, Annika, Atena, Jacob, Alexei, Rose, Ingrid, Mbali, Sophia, and Philip; and by her many cherished friends.Throughout her life, Bobbie was active in the greater Cincinnati community. She and Phil were among the founding editors of the Greenhills Journal, and they both actively supported many environmental organizations. She was active in the League of Women Voters and Woman's City Club, and she and Phil were world travelers with Procter and Gamble and the International Executive Service Corps. Donations may be made in her memory to Nightingale Montessori, 1106 E. HIgh St., Springfield, OH 45505, or to the Natural Resources Defense Council, 40 West 20th St., New York, NY 10011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on October 17, 2015, at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, 1140 Madison Avenue, Covington, Kentucky 41011, with entombment to follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery. www.springgrove.org
