Sadly, I am just getting this news now after searching. Betty was my camp counselor at Greystone in 1969. We kept up a correspondence in letters for more than 35 years! I have most of her letters here, her beautiful handwriting, all her gentle wisdom, love and humor guiding me through so many chapters of my life. College, young married, new mother, teacher. I'm so fortunate that Betty was my mentor and friend, an indelible force in my life! My deepest condolences to all who loved her.

The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers in the land,
The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains . . .
For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.

There is not a day in my life when something isn't better because of what I learned from Betty. She will be missed in person but not in spirit.

Ms. Rhoades was one of my favorite coaches of all time. She made me believe in myself and strive to be the best. Without her I would never have played Division I college volleyball. I will miss her and her smile. She was such an amazing person who made a lifelong impression on me.
Sincerely,

Betty is still missed at Mariemont Elementary. I loved her wry humor and her dedication to making the world a better place.

Not only was Betty a co-worker for many years at Mariemont Elementary, but she also was my art teacher at Dale Park Elementary. She inspired me to have a love for art. I shall never forget her. It was a blessing to know her. My condolences to her loved ones.

Betty was a wonderful aunt.... Not my aunt, but my cousins' aunt...She was full of life and everyone could see how awesome her life was. She could really throw football and any man nearby was amazed and secretly jealous. Her ceramics were beautiful, creative and clever. She was a beautiful woman and left the world way too soon.
