SHIVAR

Brian Shivar, 54, of Ewing, KY, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, KY, after a long illness battling ALS. Born June 22, 1959 in Cincinnati, he was the son of Beverly Flax Shivar of Sharonville and the late Gilbert "Gil" Shivar. A graduate of Princeton High School in Sharonville, Brian was champion swimmer and diver in high school. After high school, Brian received his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Brian was previously employed with L3 Communications in Mason, OH as a process engineer. He loved playing Fantasy Football with his childhood friends whom he kept in contact with throughout his life. Besides his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of nine years, Lezlie Shivar of Ewing, KY; two daughters, Christine Peak of Cincinnati, and Michelle Shivar of Columbus, OH; two sons, William (Brandy) Darnall of Frankfort, KY, and Jarred (Sara) Darnall of Flemingsburg, KY; three grandchildren, Emma, Emily, and Kate; two brothers, Mark Shivar of Milford, OH, and Jeff (Michelle) Shivar of Chicago, IL; and several aunts, cousins, nieces, great-nephews, and a great-niece. A "Casual Memorial Celebration" will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Mason, OH. For location details, please contact the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home in Flemingsburg, KY at 606-845-3511. I knew Brian when he was at Cincinnati Electronics; we rarely worked together but did see each other in the hallway often and would joke about something or another. I am very sorry for your loss.

Brian was the best man I have ever known and an incredible father! I knew him my whole life and was lucky enough to have him as a big part of my life and our daughters' lives. I considered him a dear friend to the very end and will cherish every memory. Lezlie, he was so lucky to have you and your family to love him and care for him. He loved you so much!
