Clara Leake Obituary
Clara Mae (Landberg) Leake, age 93, died Tuesday, November 8, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Ft. Thomas, KY. She donated her body to UC Medical School for the advancement of science, which was a field so important to her. She graduated from Lindberg College in St.Louis, Missouri. She was a chemist at Kettering Lab at University of Cincinnati until she met and married her late husband, Dr. Robert S. Leake in 1947. She loved gardening-she knew the genus and species of every flower she ever grew. She was a wonderful hostess and loved gourmet cooking and entertaining. She was a member of the Garden Club of Ft. Thomas, Cosmopolitan Club, many bridge clubs, Alter Guild of St. Andrews Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Carl Landberg and Hanna (Woodburn) Landberg, her husband Dr. Robert S. Leake, son James Chart Leake, son Joseph Sanders Leake, and sister Mary Lou Garrison. She is survived by Suzanne (Richard) Converse, Laurel (Gerry) Fitzgerald and 2 grandsons Joseph Robert and Daniel Quinn Fitzgerald and sister Joyce (Jack) Steinman. Memorial Services will be private. Memorials in her honor may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 7388 Turfway Rd., Florence, KY 41042 or to the Ft.Thomas Education Foundation, P.O. Box 75090, Ft.Thomas, KY 41075.
