DOWNS

Daniel Jason Downs, age 40 of Cincinnati, OH, died suddenly on July 7, 2015 in his home. Born in Silver Spring, MD on September 20, 1974, he was the son of Stephen J. Downs III and Linda J. Downs, presently of Cape Charles, VA. He was raised in Forestville, MD and moved to Florence, KY following his graduation from Central High School. He lived briefly in Waldorf, MD and then in Cincinnati, OH until his death. He held progressively responsible positions in the culinary and food service field from line cook, to head cook, to Sous Chef, to Executive Chef, and Kitchen Manager, all achieved through on-the-job training and experience. He is survived by his fiancée Amanda Zoe Parzych of Cincinnati, OH; a brother, David J. Downs and wife, Tammy Downs; a sister, Jennifer D. Baum and husband, Mark Baum, all of Florence, KY; nieces Melissa P. Karimi and husband Jamal of Pomfret, MD and Grace Baum of Florence, KY; nephews Tyler and Josh of Florence, KY and David J. Downs Jr. and fiancée Mackenzie Herbert of LaPlata, MD; and, a Great-niece, Sophia and a Great-Nephew, Jackson, also of Pomfret, MD. He also leaves four Aunts, four Uncles and a Great Uncle and numerous cousins and friends predominately in Maryland, Virginia and the greater Cincinnati area. Family and friends will be received on July 17, 2015, at Linneman's Funeral Home on Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. and a reception concluding at 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Cincinnati or other local chapters of the SPCA in Daniel's name because of his love for his late dog and faithful companion, Bala.
