Donald Lee Lambert

Lambert, Donald Lee, age 72, passed away July 9, 2021 in Swarthmore, PA. Donald Lee Lambert was a complicated man in many ways: He was a perfectionist who always tried to hone his craft or hobby of the moment. He strove to take the perfect picture, smoke the perfect brisket, or dovetail the perfect cabinet. Every angle had to be just right, every corner squared. And yet, for the things that mattered most, he was simple. Don's love for his wife, Betti, as well as his stalwart support for his children, are what anchored him (and us). He was always available to help Donnie with wiring his sculptures, to build humidors with Polly, to go on long hikes in the woods with Nettie, and to work out with Aaron. He was a sturdy brother to Kathy, Pip, Jennie, and Connie. He was especially devoted to his grandchildren: Isaac, Noah, Henry, Gabrielle, Naomi, and Ethan. Don was a man of deep spirit who was devoted to his G-d. He was a physically powerful man who could be incredibly gentle. He was a reflective man whose deeds defined him. He was spare in his words, but not in his actions or affections. Yet, when he did speak, it gave his actions a greater weight. His actions, not his words, defined him. He was adventurous, and by including you in those adventures he pushed you to face what you thought were your limitations and fears. He helped you to find the best within yourself. Donald Lee Lambert was truly loved and he will be sorely missed. He will be remembered often with affection and love as the months and years slowly pass, and his memory will bring a smile anytime the clouds look like rain, a red diesel pick-up truck passes by, or when Charlie, our dog, slips into his forbidden room to sit on the couch where he and Don enjoyed quiet companionship. Graveside services Tuesday, July 13, 1:30 P.M. at United Jewish Cemetery, 7885 Ivygate Lane, Montgomery, Ohio 45242. Friends may call on the family following the interment at Beth Messsiah Congregation, 9054 Columbia Road, Loveland, OH 45140.
