Doug and David were visiting us in Rochester, NY one summer. Doug and I had a standing competition for the television set at 4pm, weekdays and for the comfortable green faux leather recliner that accompanied. Two t.v. shows came between us; "Rin, Tin, Tin" and "The Electric Company". One afternoon we kids were swimming in the neighbor's pool when suddenly I remembered that the 4pm hour was approaching. I looked over at Doug who seemed totally unaware. I very slyly and spy-like began to climb up the ladder and out of the pool. My heart was racing. Doug was on to me in a flash. We raced like no tomorrow thru the neighbor's yard, thru our yard, thru the back door and he, steps ahead, threw himself ever so proudly in that 70's chair; King of "Rin, Tin, Tin". So much fun.

One very clear memory- the Cincinnati car pulled up into our Rochester, N.Y. driveway and out comes Doug and David; Doug tearing straight from the car all the way back through the backyard, up the maple tree onto the treehouse platform and then jumps straight off- a drop of about twelve feet. My ten year old self thought "this kid is wild." This same kid saved his money to buy his grandpa a Christmas present- his favorite kind of barbecue potato chips.
