Joan M. (nee Hoffecker), born in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in Cincinnati, OH, beloved wife of Louis E. Fisher, III, loving mother of Erin (James) Klumb, Beth (Ryan) Young, Maureen Fisher, Megan (Drew) Scholle, and Dasha Gilliss, precious grandmother of Nora Winterrowd and Meara Young, dear sister of Russ and Joe Hoffecker, sister-in-law of Jack and Laura Fisher and Rich and Pam Utecht, aunt of Kim (David) Keith, Julie (Tom) Reed, Nate Hoffecker, Katie, Maggie, and Annie Hoffecker, Sara Utecht, Doug (Bobbie) Utecht, Tom Utecht, Matt (Jen) Fisher, Kevin (Carrie) Fisher, and Brian Fisher, great-aunt of Alexis Hoffecker and Zoe and Phoebe Reed, dear cousin of Bill, Lisa, Brian, and Beth Koppe, and niece, cousin, friend, mentor, and colleague of so many, preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Marguerite (Rogers) Hoffecker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2017, surrounded by her beloved immediate family. Joan would often say, "Family and friends; that's what it's all about." That love and friendship will live on in those who knew and loved her. Visitation Thursday, February 23, from 5-8 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. Funeral Mass will be Friday 10 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati-West Inpatient Facility or a charity or foundation of choice. Joan was an employee at the University of Cincinnati (UC) for over 40 years and the family is currently working on establishing a scholarship fund at UC in honor of Joan's memory. It´s been years since Joan passed, and thoughts of her with in family will always be real to them. Losing a mother is one of the most painful experiences one can have.
The comfort comes knowing she is at peace.

I just heard about Joan's illness, after she was in hospice...Hopefully, she didn't have to suffer long. God bless her, and all of you, her family. Joan Hoffecker, as I knew her, at Our Lady of Lourdes elementary school and Mother of Mercy HS, was one of my favorite people. She was kind to everyone and had a great sense of humor. We became Facebook friends a few years ago, and I was happy to have some contact with her again. You were blessed to have her in your lives...one of the nicest people, who walked the earth.
