John A. BERG

BERG John A. of Nashville passed away Saturday morning, February 25th, 2006 at the age of 98. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Anna. John was superintendent at Kirk and Blum Manufacturing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, when he retired after 46 years in 1972. He was an expert gardener, and in his later years loved to play the accordion. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by daughters Betty (Jerry) Herbert, Sr. of Nashville, and Ann (Henry) Meyers of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren Greg (Pat) Meyers of Cincinnati, Melissa Meyers of Hamilton, Mary Faragher, Jeff (Orysia) Meyers, Jerry (Lee) Herbert, Jr., Martha (Michael) Merzbacher, and Becky (Robert) Cheney, all of Nashville; great grandchildren John and Emmy Herbert, Scott (Lua) Faragher, Katie, Chris and Mary Beth Merzbacher, Stephanie Meyers, Warren and Caroline Cheney of Nashville, and Brian Tricia, Mike and Colleen Meyers of Cincinnati; step great-great grandson Aneece Henderson and great-great granddaughter Ava Faragher of Nashville. Many thanks to the nurses and staff of Mary Queen of Angels Assisted Living and Alive Hospice for their loving care. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, March 2, 2006, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Bishop James Niedergeses and Father Philip Breen as co-celebrants. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers, with the management, staff and residents of Mary Queen of Angels as honorary pallbearers. Interment will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
