John KRUGER Obituary

KRUGER

John Bernard, age 59, succumbed to cancer August 29, 2013 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, Georgia. He was surrounded by his wife and children, who loved him deeply, at the time of his passing. John is survived by his wife Kim of 38 years, son David (Christy) Kruger, daughter Kellie Kruger, sister Sally (Michael) Duffy, 2 granddaughters Catherine and Isabella Kruger, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Jeanne (Drees) Kruger, and his daughter Kristine Anne Kruger. John was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. John was born on June 26, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH. Following his graduation from Roger Bacon High School in 1972, John attended the College of Applied Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. John was employed for 27 years as Product Manager for NCR and was a friend and mentor to many during his tenure. He enjoyed his work and continued to be a dedicated employee until his passing. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and was a coach in the Special Olympics Fishing Tournament for 25 years. John, along with his beloved wife, were also active volunteers for the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta where they lovingly fostered abandoned Great Pyrenees and nursed them back to health. The John Kruger GPRA Orthopedic Fund was created in his memory by the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta to honor his dedication to rescuing these Gentle Giants. The monies raised in this fund will be used to provide necessary medical procedures often required by these great dogs. John had a very kind heart and great devotion to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Road, Liberty Township, OH 45044 on Tuesday, September 3. Services for John will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in St. Bernard. Memorials may be made to The John Kruger GPRA Orthopedic Fund, 7742 Spalding Drive, #413 Norcross, GA 30092-4207 or to the American Cancer Society. Condolences to hodappfuneralhome.com

Kim and Family,

I had the privilege of ridesharing to Dayton with John for many years. 1 hour each way leaves a lot of time to have some wonderful conversations. I've tremendously missed those conversations for the last couple years, but I'll never forget how he lit up any time he spoke of you and the kids. He loved you all dearly. I sincerely hope knowing that will fill your hearts with the knowledge that he'll always be part of all of you.

John, I was proud to call you my friend. I'll never forget you. Rest in peace knowing you positively affected whomever you came into contact with. God Bless!
