Joseph KELSEY Obituary

KELSEYJoseph P., Colonel USAF Retired, beloved husband of Martha Kelsey (nee Bergamyer), loving father of Jody Wessels, Jayne Kelsey, Peggy Andresen and Mark Kelsey, grandfather of Katie, Janie, Michael, Joey, Kaycee, Scott, Kelsey, Micah, Missy, Lara and Rachel, brother to Helen, Donald, Pat and Pete Kelsey and the late Jane Stander, great grandfather and uncle to many. Monday, January 22, 2007, age 86. Raised and retired to College Hill, Cincinnati, OH. Served proudly and honorably as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to his retirement in 1972. Graduate of the Air War College. WW II European missions included flying fighter escort missions from England, including D-Day operations. Joe transitioned to jet fighters in the 50's and served as squadron commander, with subsequent assignments in NATO, war planning and air operations command in Viet Nam in 1968. Professional achievements aside, Joe's greatest achievement is his unfailing devotion to his fami ly, never putting his personal interests or work ahead of his family. We will miss his humor and his love and his friendship. Friends may call at St. Clare Church, 1443 Cedar Ave., College Hill, Friday from 10 A.M. until the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Memorials may be made to the St. Clare Building Fund, 45224. Hodapp Funeral home, College Hill, serving the family.
