Lorraine Oswald Obituary
Sister Lorraine "Ozzie" Oswald, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, and a native of Chicago, IL died on February 9, 2016, at the age of 83 in the 56th year of her religious life. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, by her sister-in-law Sandra, her nieces Janice and Toni and other family, friends and former co-workers. Sister Lorraine spent 29 years as a teacher at St. Alexander School, Villa Park, Illinois. Following her move to Cincinnati she served in the Archives of the Ohio Unit and for many years as a volunteer with Cincinnati Housing Partners. Since 2014 Sister has involved in community service to her Sisters. The visitation will take place Wednesday, February 17, 2016, from 1:30-2:45 at St. Julie Chapel, 701 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati, OH (513-761-7636), followed by the Mass of Christian burial and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E. Columbia Ave, Cincinnati, OH, 45215. I picked up my cup from our 50 year reunion from St. Philomena today and thought of you. I found you, but not the way I wanted to. Rest in peace Lorraine, and God Bless You. You will be in my prayers from now on.

What an amazing Sister she was. She taught 8th grade English to all five of our children while at St. A's. I wish we had better known all the experiences she had. May God Bless her soul!

I remember Sr. Lorraine from St. A's School in Villa Park for 7th & 8th Grade Religion & Language Arts between 1973-1975. God Bless You!

I spent many enjoyable years teaching with Sr. Lorraine at St. A's. She was the consummate English teacher! She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who remember her. Rest in peace, my friend.
