Mrs. Nancy Walker was my piano teacher from the third grade until the week I left for college.
She taught me far more at our weekly piano lessons than how to play the piano. She was graceful, always so kind, and she made you feel important for that 30 minute lesson each week even if you hadn't practiced quite enough.
I left her house after each lesson feeling that life was somehow a brighter place than when I had walked in 30 minutes prior.
She was far more to me than my piano teacher. She cared greatly for each of her students and was a true role model for all.
She will never be forgotten in my mind and heart.
My condolences go out to you, Todd, and your family. You had one amazing lady as your mother. Thanks for sharing a bit of her with her students.
With love,
Julie Powers Caños

In addition to all of Nan's accomplishments, she will also be remembered for her extraordinary compassion to animals.
Nan adopted a rescue dog many years back who was behaviorally-challenged after years of abuse, and Nan was a total angel with him.
We know that she will be rewarded in heaven.

So be it, Nancy Walker was a friend, as to so many and myself. She enjoyed so many of us and knew that by supporting our interest and lending a hand she would always persuade many others to participate or engage. She had superwoman energy with a special creative and artistic aptitude, a gift served to all that knew her and the many, many persons that benefited from her efforts.

My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Walkers Friends and Family. What an Awesome lady she was!!! I met Mrs Walker when I worked for her best Friend,Mrs Nippert. I so enjoyed watching these two converse and enjoying each others company! Always a smile on that pretty face. She will be missed in the musical world. I can just see her and Mrs Nippert watching down on us all...

Mrs. Walker was my sister and my piano teacher growing up and became a cherished family friend-so much so that my father had more recently been taking lessons from her and my daughter was convinced that she would learn piano from "the nice lady who teaches Appa" as well. Her energy and devotion to teaching and the arts were an inspiration to all and she will be sorely missed.
