Orangie, Ray, beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Pauline Hubbard, loving father of Fred (Wanda) Hubbard, Yolanda (the late Michael) Sullivan, Paulette Duffy, Lisa (Will) Roberts, David (Carol) Hubbard and Charmin (Mark) Bell, cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and dear brother of Jack, Vera, Geraldine "PeWee" and the late Deloris and Bettie Jo. Son of the late William & Bertha Hubbard (nee Honetcutt). Passed peacefully September 1, 2011 in his 78th year. Orangie was a retiree of General Motors where he spent 30 years as an employee and headed up the GM fundraising efforts for the Neediest Kids of All Campaign. A Passionate musician, Orangie was known around the world for his musical talents. As a singer/songwriter, he will be remembered as an originator of Rockabilly Music in 1955 and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. He recorded several records in Cincinnati that are still being sold in Europe today. He was also a member of the Norwood Masonic Lodge #576 and an avid bass fisherman. Friends and family are invited to a visitation Monday September 5, from 6-8 PM and funeral service Tuesday 11 AM at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home 2880 Boudinot at Queen City Avenue. I learned today that Orange had passed away. I will never forget him. I used to play fiddle with him in a band with Dillard Anderson and Valerie Day. What a kind man and wonderful musician Orange was. My blessings to the family. Karen Addie

I remember 45 years ago first meeting Orangie with his WCLU green jacket.No idea who he was and told him I didn"t know a thing about country music.
Since that time we have become true friends. We did many interesting things things together. What great memories!!!!
My oldest daughter Teri broke her arm when she was just five trying impress him by climbing over a fence in our back yard. Orangie picked her and held her all the way to the hospital, She never forgo that day or Orangie. She is 47.
