Randy Elmore Obituary

Elmore

Randy Sue Rundell Elmore, 74, of Lebanon, OH passed away at her home surrounded by family on December 19, 2017 after a long but courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.

Randy Sue was born on March 1, 1943 in Stafford, KS, to Harold and Gwendolyn Rundell.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Rundell of Stafford, KS; and her In-laws, Everett Elmore, Jr. and Lois Elmore both of Hutchinson, KS.

She attended Stafford High School and graduated from Hutchinson Junior College. She was a member of The Order of Rainbow for Girls and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. Randy Sue would go on to marry her high school sweetheart, J. Randy Elmore at the Stafford Christian Church in Stafford, KS in August of 1963. After raising their two children she volunteered at the Talbert House in Cincinnati assisting and counseling troubled teens. She also worked in numerous prestigious offices and clinics in the medical field in the Cincinnati area.

Randy Sue was a woman who left an impression hard to forget. Her kindness and generosity extended far beyond the polite hello and holiday gift basket. Her patience was endless and her love for her family and friends, infinite. Her most prized possessions were her children, Mike and Marci. One would think she could not have loved anyone as much, until her grandchildren were born. Randy Sue was a strong woman who supported her family in all of their endeavors. She cheered on her children throughout their high school and collegiate athletic careers and continued to do so for her grandchildren. She proudly wore a pin for every sport, donned the appropriate school colors, and attended every game with her husband, J. Randy.

Randy Sue's zest for life granted her opportunities to experience wonderful things like running through Berlin to catch a bus with a stolen piece of the Wall bouncing around in her purse. She had an appetite for fun that she fed by enjoying time with her family and friends whether it be a simple cookout or dressing up in extravagant Halloween costumes to go trick-or-treating with her grandchildren. She also had a true passion for perennial gardening and grew the most beautiful roses wherever she could find a spot.

Randy Sue saw the best in people. She paid attention, listened, never judged and encouraged you to pursue what made you most happy. She believed in people when they didn't believe in themselves. She invested in people and left lasting impressions on the hearts of those who had the fortunate opportunity to know her.

She is survived by her husband, J. Randy Elmore, of Lebanon, OH; her mother, Gwendolyn Rundell, of Stafford, KS; two children, Michael Elmore and wife, Karen, of Roswell, GA, and Marci Elmore Bauer, of Lebanon, OH; three sisters, Terry Newell and husband, Bruce, of Stafford, KS; Jo Zehr and husband, Tim, of Kansas City, MO; and Cathy Eckles of Stafford, KS. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Jennifer Elmore, of Atlanta, GA and Joey Bauer, of Lebanon, OH; as well as her Sister-in-law, Susie Woodring, of League City, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many, many dear friends whom she adored.

A private celebration of Randy Sue Elmore's life is to be held at a later date in Stafford, KS. Friends and family will be notified.

Randy,

So sorry to hear about Randy Sue. Hope you find peace in all the wonderful memories you have over the years. It is extra hard losing a loved one at Christmastime, although never easy. I lost my dad on December 20, 1960.

Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you. I hope you find comfort in my sending sympathy to you.

Randy Sue was a loving person and a dear friend. For example, in 1993, Dawn was very sick and was med-evaced to Mayo Clinic for treatment. Randy Sue hopped on a plane that same day and was waiting to great her at the Clinic, and stayed a few days for comfort. A kind person who will be greatly missed.
