Richard WILLMORE Obituary

WILLMORE Richard H., age 75, of Columbus, IN.. Died Thursday, March 20, 2003. He was born on December 19, 1927 in Vincennes, IN., to William Hugh and Hollis Lorena (Coons) Willmore. He married Edith Arlene Vermillion on June 11, 1950. He was a CPA and 1970 founder of R.H. Willmore Accountancy Corporation in Columbus, IN.. He was an Accountant for Union Starch and Refining Company for eight years and Cummins Engine Company for 11 years. He was the President of Clarence E. & Inez R. Custer Foundation since its inception in 1989. He was honored in 1993 as a Lifetime Associate Member of the Franklin College Alumni Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbus; a 53 year member of the Fraternal Order of Masonry; a 1962 Master of St. John's Lodge #20 where he served for 39 years as treasurer. He was Past Worth Patron of Order of Eastern Star 1974-1975. Past President of the High Twelve Club in Columbus. A 1945 graduate of Lincoln High School in Vinennes. He received his bachelor of science in business from Indiana University in 1951. He was the Treasurer of the Columbus Antique Club, an avid traveler and camper, and a collector of antiques, including clocks, cruets and turtles. He was a veteran of World War II Army Air Corps 101st division serving during the occupation of Japan. Services 10 A.M. Monday, March 24 at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, Columbus, IN. with visitation from 1-5 P.M. on Sunday, March 23 and 9 A.M. until service on Monday. David Willmore, officiating. St. John's Masonic Memorial Service 5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment at Fairview Cemetery in Vincennes at 4 P.M. Monday. Memorials to the Masonic Lodge Memorial Fund or the American Lung Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are wife Edith Willmore of Columbus, IN.; sons David A. (Sharman) Willmore of Cincinnati and Gregory H. (Camille) Wilmore of Indianapolis; daughter Cheryl Ann (Steven) Moffatt of Hope, IN.; randchildren Erin Peters, Laura and Jonathan Willmore all of Cincinnati; Stephanie and James Richard Moffatt both of Hope, IN.; Matthew, Christopher and Timothy Harrison Willmore all of Indianapolis; sister Hollis Lorena Lange of St. Petersburg, FL.; brother William Hugh Willmore Jr. of Ft. Wayne, IN..
