Robert GRUBBS Obituary
GRUBBS
Robert Grubbs Sr., 72, of Florence, KY, passed away on Saturday November 15th, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence surrounded by his family. He was a supervisor for Cincinnati Bell Telephone for 35 years, a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a member of Mary Queen of Heaven, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He also served as a member of the Army Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Grubbs and his first wife, Margaret Grubbs. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Barbara Grubbs nee Kubala of Florence; his daughters, Melissa (Ed) Charron of Anderson Twp, OH, Denise Buerkle of Walton, and Emily (Chad) Merse of Florence; his son, Robert (Linnetta) Grubbs Jr. of Jacksonville, NC; his brothers, Gary (Kristy) Grubbs of Independence, and William "Scott" Grubbs of Independence; his step-daughter, Kim (Nick Williams) Hudson of Newport; his step-son, Kyle Hudson of Denver, CO; and his step-sister, Theresa (Larry) Perry of St. Augustine, FL. He also leaves behind his 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday November 20th, 2014 from 9:30AM-12:00PM at Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 12:00PM at the Church. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY. Bobby was a couple of grades ahead of me at St. Cecilia in the days when all families knew one another. I remember when Bobby's mother broke her leg and Bobby, who was in the eighth grade at the time, drove the family to early Sunday morning Mass-----before he had his driver's license. Bobby was a true gentleman. May his presence remain with you in the many memories you have. God bless each of you. You are remembered in prayer.
