Thomas VIER Obituary

VIER Thomas M. Sr. of Mason, OH (formally of Washington, DC and area) loving brother of W.F. "Rick' Vier, and of Laura Leonard of Huntington, IN, loving son of Katherine R. and William R. Vier of Stuart, FL, very devoted and loving father of Thomas M. Jr. and David K. of Reston, VA and true friend of Leisel Bucheit passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati on December 29, 2000, age 50. He is survived by his matron Aunt Cherry Key of Naples, FL and her daughter Margaret Frieje (and her husband Tim and family) of Loveland, OH, and her son Stephen in Wheaton, MD and by patron Aunt Marion Benson of Sal Lake, UT and her family in Salt Lake, UT and in Bedford, WY and by patron Uncle Dwayne T. Vier and family in southern California. Tom was a native of the Washington, DC area, attended Mackinac College in Mackinac, MI. Tom served the ABC Washington News Bureau as the Master Control Engineer for many years, was acknowledged for his work by several of the well-known broadcasters that served there, and befriended many co-workers including those in the NABET-CWA broadcasting union. A small family memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the Hospice of Cincinnati on January 2, 2001. A burial service at the interment of his ashes will be later in the Washington, DC area, location yet to be determined.
