ZAFERES
Thomas "Tom". Beloved husband of Eleni Zaferes nee Laras for 40 years. Devoted father of Tricia (Brad) Fielden and Peter Zaferes. Loving Papouli of Andrew & Matthew Fielden. Dear son of Patricia P. Zaferes nee Marinakis and the late Pete Zaferes. Brother of George (Diane) Zaferes. Brother-in-law of Zoe (John) Dale and Tula Laras. Also survived by many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his family, his biggest love was his Church, Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Tom is an Archon of the Order of St. Andrew and currently serves on the Metropolis of Detroit Council and the Archdiocesan Council. Locally, Tom served as a past President and Parish Council member at the Church and as a past Board member of St. Basil Academy. He retired after 25 years with JA Kindel Office Supply Co. and Office Depot in 2007. Currently, he was enjoying his second career at Dillard's. Tom passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the age of 65 years. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, February 5th from 5 to 8 PM and on Thursday, February 6th from 11 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12 PM at the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 7000 Winton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45224. Interment at Spring Grove Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed by a memorial contribution to the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Endowment Fund. I worked with Tom for thirteen years, at J.A. Kindel/Office Depot. I remember him to be one of the kindest men I have ever known. I remember the delicious coffee cakes he would bring in to the office to share with us all. I also remember him to be a hard worker. I am saddened by his untimely death. Rest in Peace, Tom.
